This is a simple site about model trains.  Specifically, N Scale model trains.

While living in Europe a habit was formed for model trains.  As we were in the Netherlands at the time, Dutch trains (NS, Nederland Spoorwegen http://www.ns.nl/), were the first obsession, although we started with a German, Fleischmann (http://www.fleischmann.de/) “startset”.  This led to the use of Fleischmann track, turnouts, etc., which survives into the now reasonably large layout residing in the “trilobyte” basement.

Once we were back in the States, the process of discovering the wonderful history of US railroads started, and the gradual commencement of a collection of N Scale US Locos and Cars began.  Of course a bit of “prototype” train spotting now occurs, along with as as many trips on “Amtrak” as we can manage before they shut it down!!  If you don't want that to happen, you might consider looking here (www.narprail.org)
